‘Have it Your Way’ Chocolate or Carob Mint Bars

Hey laney, here’s something you can grab on the go! This is one of the simplest treats you can make, like MAGIC, requires no baking or dehydrating. If you are patient enough to wait for this confection to become solid (1 hour’s time in the freezer tops), you’ll have a nice, perfect bar. For those who can’t wait, cheat like me and eat some before reluctantly putting the rest into the freezer.
1/4 cupĀ Carob Chips or Chocolate Chips (Vegans- use non-dairy) or Cocoa Nibs (add a bit more if you`re using cocoa nibs)
1 cup Walnuts
2- 3 Tablespoons Chia seeds
4-5 branches worth of Mint Leaves
2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
1 Tablespoons Agave Nectar
1 Teaspoon Mint Essence
Blend everything evenly into chunky bits, avoid over-processing.
Shape into 3 big bars or 4 smaller bars.
Put in the Freezer for 1 hour for better shape.
Yields 3- 4 fat bars.
PS: Rawifying this bar is very simple. Most of these ingredients are easily available in raw form

This is so yummy, I ate all three at a go. (I’m being naughty). I know it’s weird to have bits of mint leaves within the bar, but you can totally omit them and have no greens in them. I personally LOVE chunky mint leaves.

Fans of Mint, dig in!

I’m so touched. ” Have it Lane’s way” bar!
The weather has been so hot lately and I’ve been eating all the wrong oily heaty foods. I would love to have a go at this easy to make bar but what is CHia Seeds & AGave Necter?
Once u tell me, I will get my hands on them… … Mean while I apologize for the delay in my eyeliner entry. I’ve been pretty messed up lately and I’m still trying to get my life on track.
Nights!
Hi Laney! I hope you’ll try it!
Chia seeds is this superfood that works very well in dessert and is super good for health. see chiachiachia You can also substitute it with sesame seeds or pumpkin seeds if you want. Chia is more subtle though, because they are smaller.
Agave Nectar is a a sweet syrup extracted from Blue Agave - a Mexican dessert plant very much like aloe. It is sweet but favourless (like sugar), a very popular vegan substitute for honey. You can also use honey but as you know, honey has its own taste, like maple syrup which is fine if you like the taste.
You can find both ingredients in Health Foods Stores or Organic Health Food Suppliers but I am not too sure which ones in sg carries them. Here`s a list of Natural Health Food Stores in sg Or you can order them online! From Australia (nearest) if you can`t find them.
Wow, I ‘ll try to locate them in Spore
.Meanwhile, for your readers who can’t get these seeds in their home town, what would you recommend as a good substitute?
Hey darlin’! You can use sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or hemp seeds.
Taste-wise, I think sesame or hemp is closer to chia than pumpkin or sunflower. But you can always try out different versions.
Let me know how it goes k!
Hi! I found your blog after reading a comment you made on another sight. You commented that you thought you might be Celiac. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I’ve been gluten free for awhile now and love helping people transition successfully to a gluten free lifestyle!
