Have you eve noticed why Ikea’s logo is such a big hit? It’s probably because they used complementary colours for their logo. In art school, we learn about colour theory- how opposing colours off set and complement each other. Some great colour combos:
forest green & deep red
navy blue & bright yellow
purple & mustard yellow
Indigo & orange
Greens & Yellows
Putting guacamole into colour theory- creamy yellow corn chips do complement red salsa sauces, but how about blue corn chips? Blue corn chips are actually not blue- they fall between purple and indigo.

The title is pretty much self explainatory:
salad-avocado, peach, tomato and greens
yellow sauce- 2 yellow and ripe mangoes and 1 yellow bell pepper blended with added salt and pepper
Amazing Stuff! I am falling in love with raw food all over again. I had this twice this week, varying bell pepper with celery. This salad is tasty and really hydrating. Instant love~!

Soups are a lovely thing to have, as a nice side dish or simply by itself. Everyone needs some slurppable comfort sometimes. Here’s a simple low-fat yet delectably creamy sweet soup.
Mr. Apple saw a bunch of cute dates on the kitchen counter, couldn’t decide who was the cutest, so he went ahead and dated them all. Dates are pretty okay with sharing one guy. These honeys are just in for the money anyways.
Mr. Apple can be such a play boy sometimes.

Summer= Ice Cream
What a simple equation. So is this recipe!
1 Avocado
5-6 Dried Figs
1/2 cup almonds (pre-soaked) or 1 banana
1 teaspoon Arrowroot Powder
2 tablespoons Agave Nectar
1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
2/3 cups filtered water
Blend it, freeze it. 1/2 hour later, take it out blend it (by whisk or blender) and shove it back into the freezer. Do this in 1/2 hour intervals for 2-3 more times to break up ice crystals. And then freeze for another 4 hours. Garnish with mint leaves or sliced dried figs.

I’ve got Korean yellow- fleshed sweet potatoes (sweet potatoes, yam, whatever you call it) lying in the pantry threatening to grow mold. I was craving carbs but I think I kind of went a little overboard. Let’s do some math:
[Purple rice = (millet+ sorgum millet+ buckwheat+ brown and black rice)], x sweet potato x avocado= one full carb filled happy vegan.
So in the steamer the s.p or yammie goes. I steamed it on the top tray above some purple rice, intending to make a nice sushi roll. However, in the attempt of using up all the rice in the pot, my sushi transformed into a burrito. Err…

You know those days when you have a song playing in your head consecutively for days in a row? I having those days. The strangest thing is the choice of song my head chooses to loop: Take That’s Back for Good. I figured it’s because it’s one of those songs that they put on rotation at departmental stores and shopping centres when I was a kid. But enough is enough. Is there a way to stop it ? If this continues, I reckon that it will cause me some serious long-term neuro damage. I’m going insane. Arrggggggggggggggh
